Lake Geneva Beach Association

In 1924, John Jesperson and Stanley Jones purchased a 26-acre tract of land from the estate of Mary A. Emery, located on the south shore of Geneva Lake. The Jones and Winter Co. undertook the task of dividing it into 142 individual lots, each with a 50-foot frontage. They named this newly subdivided area the Lake Geneva Beach subdivision. The pricing strategy for the lots followed a progressive increase, starting at $1000 for the lots at the south end of the subdivision and gradually reaching $5000 for those situated on the lakefront.

Shortly after the subdivision's establishment, the first residential construction took place in 1925. Lot 39 became the site of the inaugural residence of the late George Thompson. As the community began to take shape, the lot owners recognized the need for an organized body to oversee the subdivision's infrastructure, which encompassed the lakefront park, roads, and water supply. Consequently, in 1927, the subdivision's owners formed The Lake Geneva Beach Association (LGBA) to ensure the proper management and maintenance of these essential elements for the benefit of all lot owners.

Fast forward nearly a century, and the LGBA has flourished into a thriving community. Its expansive lakefront beach and park have become a central hub for neighbors to gather, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and friendship among residents. Throughout the summer months, numerous events take place within the LGBA, including block parties, a 4th of July parade, fishing contest, concerts in the park, swimming competitions, and many more. This vibrant community has become a place where neighbors not only reside but also form lasting bonds and enjoy each other's company.
